 I have Two customers who bought an extra one so they don’t have to make costly trips to their landfill!

*Made from one black 200 Litre screw lid food grade drum with about 50 drill holes in the bottom and a  Blue 100 litre food grade base with a mini ball valve tap & garden hose end.  You can easily clear the tap with a knitting needle or wire if it gets blocked.

The Base is vented via a cut out hand grip to let methane gas escape.  Previous use; pork casings & vinegar or soy sauce.
**The top drum is just pushed into the base, it will pull/slide out easy. The top drum does not have to be jammed back tight on to the base when re assembling. .
Dimensions Assembled;  aprox 1130mm high x 570mm Diam. Weight aprox 14kg

*Using your biodigester:• Put in any perennial weeds you don’t want sprouting in your compost- kikuyu, couch, tradescantia (wandering willy), grass with seed heads, dock, etc.
• If weeds are dry and woody (eg large amounts of kikuyu), mixing in something juicy like seaweed or comfrey leaves will help kickstart the breakdown process. DO NOT FILL IT WITH WATER, just make sure its damp & sweating inside.
• Putting it in full sun speeds up the process. About 3 weeks in summer & its ready to put in your garden!
• Check regularly to see if liquid is building up in the bottom chamber by tapping the side.
.  Dilute the  liquid fertiliser produced to the colour of weak tea & pour it over your garden..

Fertiliser and soil conditioner: The solid, fibrous component of the digested material can be used as a soil conditioner to increase the organic content of soils. Digester liquor can be used as a fertiliser to supply vital nutrients to soils instead of chemical fertilisers that require large amounts of energy to produce and transport. The use of manufactured fertilisers is, therefore, more carbon-intensive than the use of anaerobic digester liquor fertiliser.

Backfreighters are cheap but may take longer than a week sometimes. No fixed schedule, No Rural & they have no Depots. You may have to arrange a Drop-Off address for delivery or meet the freighter at his time only. They may need to drop it off at night or on a Sat or Sunday, Regular transport cost would be over $200.00 each so there is big saving for you. They may phone/text to advise the day before delivery is likely or, I may. I make NO guarantee on delivery date or time.
